Toronto developer Urbancorp is banking that there'll be a market for 185 upscale ravine-hugging family homes in the Lawrence Avenue West and Black Creek Drive neighbourhood. Homes in the Ravines On Lawrence development will range in size from a 2485 sq. ft. stacked townhome with three bedrooms to the 3455 sq. ft., four-bedroom detached house. Overall the proect has a contemporary cube design, sure to stand out in a neighbourhood that consists mainly of low-rise apartment buildings and low-key older bungalows. The site, formerly home to Hardington Public School (to be demolished for this project), backs onto the Black Creek ravine—a huge selling point for Urbancorp, who are really emphasizing the "forest in the middle of the city" aspect of the project. They're also highlighting the site's proximity to Yorkdale Shopping Centre, York University and the new, state-of-the-art Humber River Regional Hospital, slated to open in 2015.
