Bellwoods Brewery Pouring Into Vintage Glass Site

That glittering glass-walled industrial building at the corner of Dupont Street and Dovercourt Avenue has long been an object of desire for city speculators. Yesterday, in a very wordy press release, Ossington-Avenue-based Bellwoods Brewery revealed that they plan to open their new brewing facility and tasting room at the site. Originally home of the Hamilton Gear and Machine company (which left the property in 1994), the Dupont structure is owned by furniture purveyors G.H. Johnson. They'll clean up the building and bring its infrastructure up to code; once that work's done, Bellwoods Brewery will begin setting up their tanks and tasting room, with a tentative opening date of summer 2015.
