On the Market

The shingle-style Hamptons home of Gilded Age heiress and socialite Consuelo Vanderbilt Balsan, the great-granddaughter of railroad tycoon Cornelius Vanderbilt, has hit the market for $28M. Built around 1900 and owned by Balsan until her death in 1964, the mansion was given an "immaculate" renovation in 2007, with interiors by designer Thomas Pheasant and the addition of a "world class rose garden."
