Condo Committees

When condo owners crave a little more control over their properties, they make the move to start condo committees, but that's a 'no-no' according to the National Post's Self-Help-for-Condos guru Marilyn Lincoln. The infamous author behind The Condominium Self Management Guide explains, "It is the decision of the board whether or not they choose to appoint a condo committee and owners cannot legally challenge the authority of the board by creating one on their own." That said, some boards do allow it, but they're usually approved for minor causes such as neighbourhood BBQs.
