SmartTrack

As part of John Tory's campaign to become Toronto's next mayor, he's promising 53 kilometres of "surface subway" for $8 billion in just seven years years time. The U-shaped electrified GO tracks would run connect Pearson International Airport, the Markham technology hub, Liberty Village, and Corktown - a transit dream come true. But sources say his timeline is way off and that Tory hasn't accounted for the complications of electrifying tracks in high-density neighbourhoods.
