The long-awaited second platform at Union Station opened on Monday, launching a new era of easier, safer access to the Yonge-University-Spadina Line (or, as we should be referring to it now, Line 1). The new platform is where you'll board the train if you're heading to Finch Station; if you're going to Downsview, stick to the original platform.
