Starwood Hotels & Resorts announced today that Queen Street's tired old Sheraton Centre hotel is scheduled for a facelift. The Sheraton was one of the hottest hostelries in town back in the 80s, but in the last decade or so it lost a lot of its clientele to newer, more upscale hotels like the Shangri-La and the Ritz-Carlton. The $90,000,000 renovations will bring updated colours and graphic design to the Sheraton's rooms and public areas; work starts in November and should be complete by mid-2015. [Market Watch]
