Crafthouse Drops 20 Modernist Homes Into Bayview Village

Orchard Ridge Homes, a developer based out of Vaughan, are usually behind more conventional (boring?) suburban developments like Mississauga's Brittania Meadows. Their new project, Crafthouse, a 20-home development near Bayview and Finch avenues (on the site of the demolished North Toronto Christian School), is a whole other story. This ain't your average subdivision; the exteriors are starkly modern in design, and the interiors have open floor plans and an airy, contemporary feel. Architect Peter Vishnovsky designed the interiors in layers, "almost like fanning gently through a deck of cards". These homes are large, the nine available models range from 3084 sq. ft. to a generous 5452 sq. ft., with either four or five bedrooms. Prices aren't average, either: the homes range from $1,795,000 to just under $3,000,000. Crafthouse should be completed by the end of 2014.
