High Park's little zoo is home to a few exotic animals (a capybara! a wallaby! yaks!), but yesterday Toronto Animal Control had to chase down a rogue reptile; a juvenile caiman, an alligator relative that's a lot more common in South America than in West Toronto. The caiman was probably dumped into the park's pond by some genius who got it illegally and then didn't know how to take care of it. Lucky for the knobby little guy, he'll have a temporary home at Reptilia, and then move to permanent digs at a yet-to-be-chosen zoo. [CP24]
