Hint: Long Ago, a River Ran Through it

Welcome to Cornerspotter, Curbed's game in which you try to identify the location and/or identity of a particular building or streetscape in a historic photograph. Impress us and your fellow Curbed readers with your uncanny insight into Toronto and its past!

The olde-timey grocery store in this 1930 Cornerspotter shot has swinging lamb carcasses and pyramids of canned goods in its picture windows, but if you go to this same corner today you'll be more likely to find busy motorists filling up on gasoline and doughnuts. The neighbourhood is bustling, with trendier cafes, bars and restaurants joining (driving out?) the longtime Portuguese merchants, and home prices are reflecting the increase in foot traffic.

Think you know this corner? Let us know in the comments.
