Today's Monday Mansion is a dazzling all-white 10,000 sq. ft. contemporary home that's listed for $5,495,000. The house has five bedrooms and eight bathrooms, all of them using the same stark white-and-black palette found throughout the house. It was designed by Dee Dee Taylor Eustace, the Toronto architect/interior designer/media personality (she even turns up on Oprah), who took the owner's request for an all-white theme and delivered in a big way. It would have been easy to go all-out coldly-futuristic with that kind of mandate, but Eustace managed to keep the house feeling more like a home and less like a lab. The kitchen's a vast shiny white expanse, for example, but the layout is comfortable and the halogen lighting is warm; the huge windows all around the house also let in sunlight and bring in colour from the landscaped gardens. This place has plenty going for it on top of the monochrome scheme; a sculptural "ice glass" wall, six fireplaces, Jacuzzi tubs in both the master bedroom and the guest suite, skylights, a full gym with a sauna and heated floors, two laundry rooms (lower level and second floor), a media room with surround sound, and a 40' pool (with his and hers cabanas).
