Crawford St. Coach House Has a Smashing Mosaic

This 1000 sq. ft. live/work studio in a laneway off Crawford Street in Little Italy was once a coach house. The building's owner, artist Barbara Klunder, may have designed the edgy primitive graphic identity of Queen Street West's BamBoo Club, but the studio's interiors are simple and white, right down to its glossy wide-plank hardwood floors. There's one serious indication of Klunder's colourful esthetic, though; the exuberantly-tiled bathroom walls are a swirling night-sky mosaic of blue and gold pottery shards. Ms Klunder recently put the house on the market; it listed for $489,900, and sold last week for $562,000. Now she can finally buy more china.
