The dust is starting to settle around the construction site of the new B.streets Condos, revealing the nearly completed nine-storey building. The latest condo project across from Honest Ed's Warehouse at Bathurst and Bloor Street is surprisingly on-time for completion with the promised move-in date of summer 2014. Designed by Hariri Pontarini Architects, the anticipated new project is a mix of one and two-storey units, from a mini 380 to 1,250 square feet, prices starting at $200,000. The retail space hasn't been leased on the main floor yet and since its launch, the developer has promised bespoke and luxury stores. Maybe an upscale expresso bar?

Once the site of Loretto College, belonging to the Toronto Catholic District School Board, the property at 783 Bathurst St. was sold to the developer for $6.97 million in 2011. Across the street, Honest Ed's and the Mirvish block was recently sold to Vancouver developer, Westbank Projects Corp. with an estimated price tag of $100 million. Westbank says the block will likely become a mixed-use development and is unlikely to be rebuilt as a hotel. For now, the new B.streets owners should enjoy their view before construction begins across the street, possibly in 2017.
