Jilly's Last Dance: Developer Buys New Broadview Hotel

New, 1 comment

Say goodbye to the lurid posters of lingerie-clad women that cover the windows of Jilly's, the venerable peeler bar at the corner of Queen Street and Broadview. Streetcar Developments (the group behind east-side projects like the Taylor Lofts and the Carlaw) have purchased the New Broadview House Hotel, the four-storey Romanesque building that's been home to the strip club for decades. Surprisingly for a group that have made their name building residential properties, Streetcar are saying their plans don't include condos and do include restoration; could this be the east end's Drake or Gladstone?
