British newsreel service British Pathe recently uploaded a huge cache of vintage newsreels to its YouTube channel, giving Torontonians a historical look back at the city. From past footage of the Culinary Art Show to a Warriors Day march in 1938, the restored videos offer a fun glimpse into the Toronto's past and development of the city. In the above video, we see the 64th annual Canadian National Exhibition with the opening address. The Exhibition first opened in 1879 to promote the development of agriculture and technology.
