Name This Laneway

Community council members met this week to discuss potential laneway names in the Seaton Village and surrounding neighbourhoods. Names must comply with the city's Street Naming Policy and so far, out of 19 suggested names, six are recommended to be rejected at the meeting. One of the rejected is the "Deborah Brown Lane," named after Toronto's oldest resident who lived on Markham Street and died at the age of 111 in 1898. To name a laneway, the city requires written consent from a living relative or the estate. [City of Toronto]
