When Will This Paper-Folded Loft Rise at Bathurst And Queen?

The Origami Lofts near Bathurst and Queen Street could be Toronto's favourite paper-folding lofts, that is, if the project begins anytime soon. The seven-storey building set to be completed in 2014 is still under pre-contruction status waiting for permit approval. If Origami does fold ahead, the unique building will really stand out with its mixed glass and zinc outer shell design. The low-rise building features 23 units from just 387 to 983 square feet, starting from around $219,000. The units are further origami-inspired with its clever named units; live in the Rabbit, the Sea Turtle and Butterfly suites or live it up in the Elephant Penthouse (which is only 730 square feet). Hopefully this new development will serve as a welcome change to the Queen West area that, let's be honest, could always use an upgrade. Thanks to stores like CB2 Modern Furniture, the sketchy neighbourhood is looking brighter.
