Where: 568 Dupont Street near, between Bathurst and Christie Street
Year it was Built: 1921
The Skinny: Perhaps you've driven past this unmarked brick building near the corner of Bathurst and Dupont many times and wondered to yourself, what the heck is inside? For more than 50 years, The Queen's Club holds a prominent place in history as Toronto's first indoor tennis club. Formerly the Toronto Skating Club, the building was converted in 1957 to the members only tennis club by avid player Sydney Hermant. Elite members have included former Prime Minister John Turner and former Canadian politician Barbara McDougall. The building itself has no heritage designation, and still remains a mystery to those who drive by.
