The Neon Condos Are Anything But Neon at Yonge & Eglinton

Despite the cheesy name, the Neon Condos are under construction near Yonge and Eglinton. The condo website with pink neon sparklers gives the impression this 20-storey building is bursting with colour and a touch of the 1980s. The actual renderings are not as flashy with a grey and glass exterior and a tame brown and white decor. The building is directly behind a library and while useful, library and "neon party building" doesn't always mix. Prices range from $224,900 to over $689,900 with expected occupancy at the end of the year.

The Neon Condos are just one of many new developments transforming Toronto's Yonge and Eligible neighbourhood. When completed, 155 Redpath will have an outdoor infinity pool on the ninth floor and a Loblaws, the sexy E Condos has a crazy fish bowl pool in the sky, and the Life Condos on the already jam-packed Merton Street are more intimate with only 13-storeys. The buildings on the northeast corner of Yonge and Eg. are going to be demolished to make way for a 64-storey high-rise and the new Crosstown LRT will bring additional density to the area. Towers and construction are the becoming the future of midtown Toronto. How will Grazie Ristorante with its long wait time accommodate even more customers?
