Mirvish Comment of The Day

At the Star Talks event this week, theatre impresario David Mirvish discusses the proposed Mirvish+Gehry towers on King Street and argues that the city needs to think about both current and future heritage value. He says, "in 1963 Toronto had no heritage building designation and the laws haven't evolved with the city…We're trying to build something special for the city, rather than just another commercial project." The last consultation with the city is February 18 before determining if the project will be appealed to the Ontario Municipal Board. [Curbed Toronto]
