It's not the Versailles of Vaughan but the estate at 480 Stephanie Blvd. is two minutes north of the wildly talked about listing with the heated ferrari room. Featured back in October, this Vaughan property was asking $4.998 million but recently chopped its price tag to $4.750 million. What a bargain! Luxury houses have hit a new sales record across Canada, rising 18 per cent in 2013. While Toronto's elite neighbourhoods for luxury homes include Rosedale, Forest Hill, Lawrence Park, Bridle Path and Hogg's Hollow, the infamous Versailles chateaux at 90 Rocmary Pl. is Vaughan's most expensive listing at $17.8 million. Recently, two luxury properties went on the auction block when they couldn't sell for their hefty asking price; one eventually selling for $6.2 million in Mississauga and another partially completed property in the Bridle Path received a bid of $13.980 million. Other Canadian cities also seeing a surge in luxury home sales include Calgary with an increase of 34 per cent and Vancouver with a 36 per cent surge since 2012.
