In case you didn't get the memo, Dufferin and Lawrence is Toronto's newest Italian neighbourhood. The Treviso Condos, a new project by Lanterra Developments, brings its somewhat confusing Italian flair to the area. When did Dufferin and Lawrence become the new Little Italy or even Woodbridge? While there is an Italian community in the neighbourhood, the Residenze Palazzo goes overboard with their slogan, "celebrating timeless Italian tradition and bringing the soul of Italy to the heart of North York." Page + Steele/IBI Group Architects designed the condo with Italy in mind, the building showcasing water features, bridges and a large (hopefully Italian?) retail space. The condo consists of three towers, 24 and 20, 15-storeys, expected to be completed later this year. Who doesn't want to live in a suite named after an Italian cheese? The one-bedroom Asiago model suite is still available.
