The development proposal for a 10-storey condo in Roncesvalles that was scheduled to go to the Ontario Municipal Board (OMB) this week was resolved by the developer who approached with the city with concessions. The community was initially concerned with the design, building height, density and zoning of the structure. They were also concerned the new building was too close to the nearby Robert Watson Lofts at 363 Sorauren Avenue. The city and developer came to an agreement about the proposed residential building at 383 Sorauren Ave., including "incorporating a 'stepback' of 3 metres between the 6th and 7th floors, additional parking, and meeting the city's technical requirements." Designed by architectsAlliance, the boutique building will have 145 units with prices starting around $250,000. The building is scheduled for completion in 2016 but with the design delay, the completion date could be pushed back.
