Developer Tribute Communities confirmed this week that a Loblaws Grocery Store will be moving into the retail space for the new College Condominiums, much to the dismay of Kensington Market locals. Residents of the market have been petitioning against any big box stores, concerned that it will have a negative impact on independent retailers. Around the web, many Torontonians are outraged by the news. Is there anyone out there who thinks Loblaws will be a positive change for the market? One Toronto Life reader says she'll still shop at both:
Now that a 20K Loblaws is taking over the corner of College just west of Spadina, say goodbye to Kensington Market.
