After the big announcement last week that Book City was closing its doors after a 38-year run, general manager Ian Donker tells Quill & Quire, "The lease was up and we agonized over the decision, but sadly it didn't make much economic sense to continue." The bookstore located in a prime location on Bloor Street between Bathurst and Spadina, has substantial monthly costs.
