Bob Blumer is Surreal; Winterlicious; And More!

The Eater Toronto newsletter is one delicious piece of work you definitely want coming your way. Sign up below and never be hungry again.

1.) Barrie: This week's most heartfelt story came from a recent widow, who while dining alone for the first time since his wife passed, randomly picked up the tab for a young couple at a nearby table. The Internet was moved to e-tears.

2.) City Hall: Street food went on trial again this week with the first of two public consultations. The initial response has been positive but will all the politico chatter finally transform Toronto into a gourmet sidewalk-dining destination?

3.) Citywide: Winterlicious is less than two weeks away and restaurants are now taking phone reservations. Do it soon so you won't be left out in the cold.

4.) Roncesvalles: The weather screams comfort food. Cut The Cheese, a gourmet grilled cheese and mac and cheese emporium, soft launches tomorrow. Coincidence? Eater thinks not.

5.) Follow Friday: Eater Toronto launched a new series that picks one notable person on Twitter, Instagram, plus a blog, that should be followed for one reason or another. See this week's Follow Friday picks:

6.) Twitterverse: This week, Food TV's Bob Blumer took to Twitter to present his latest artistic creation, a label illustration for Imagery Estate Winery's vintage, Code Blue. The drawing proves that the former Surreal Gourmet is just as surreal an artist.
