IKEA Monkey

Courts ruled this week that Darwin, the now famous IKEA monkey, will not be returned to his owner and will remain in an animal sanctuary in Sunderland, Ontario. Darwin made his stylish public debut last December after he escaped from a car and was spotted wearing a shearling coat and diaper at the North York IKEA store on Sheppard Avenue East. The owner filed a civil suit against the sanctuary which was later dismissed; judge ruling that the monkey is a wild animal and not a domestic pet. No word yet if his monkey "mom," will appeal the ruling. [Global News]
