The Catch: 'Dream' House in York Mills

The Catch, in which we present everything-looks-good-except listings, needs you! Send your nominees to toronto@curbed.com and we'll consider them for public shaming.

What/Where: Luxury six bedroom, 12 bathrooms at 38 Bayview Ridge Crescent, near Bayview and York Mill, priced at $6,299,900.
Looks Good, Right? Totally. The 27,000 square foot house is located in a great neighbourhood and has two elevators, a gourmet kitchen, indoor pool, spa, and underground parking for seven cars. What could be wrong with this gorgeous house?

What's the Catch? This house just needs a tiny bit of work...

It's a partially-built house listed for $6 million dollars that you are invited to finish yourself! How your new house looks today. ?

We're not sure the story behind the house (the selling agent didn't respond to our emails), but it seems that the owners decided to sell the house mid-construction. The price has been lowered several times, starting at $15 million, then $8 million, then lowered to $7 million. The listing notes that the "finishes described are the builders vision and not necessarily included." A partially-built fixer-upper for only $6 million dollars. What a deal!
