Get a Slice of Retro Near Don Mills Road For $500K

If you thought it was impossible to find a nice (or at least semi-nice) house under $500K in our pricey real estate city, think again. While this three-bedroom is located at the tip of the city near Steeles Avenue East and Don Mills Road, you get a larger property with 1,200 square feet on a 30 x 120 lot, a spacious backyard, driveway and three car parking. The owners are asking $500,000 for the detached house at 96 Freshmeadow Dr. and while you may want to update that funky retro basement, the rest of the place seems quite charming and liveable, if that's the location for you. In comparison, if you're looking for a $500K house in downtown Toronto, you can get a condo or a fixer-upper typically bordering on terrible. Here's a two-bedroom condo near Richmond asking $500,000 with a 400 square foot terrace and one car parking. We also found this house near St. Clair West and Oakwood asking $499,000 formerly three apartments but can be converted into a single family home. Are these homes worth the asking price?
