Work Progresses On Mighty Pier 27 Waterfront Condos

The Residences of Pier 27 is not your traditional concrete or glass condo we're use to seeing in downtown Toronto. Currently under construction at the foot of Yonge Street and Queens Quay, the four 14-storey towers are connected by a cantilevered SkyBridge. The towers are designed by architectsAlliance who also did the Bloor-Yorkville revitalization with widened sidewalks, flowers, trees and shrubs brightening up the city's streetscape. Available units in the waterfront condos start at $800,000 to $5 million. With any pricey condo, we expect great amenities and this one delivers with its movie theatre, in-house spa, fitness studio, swimming pool and waterfront view.

Not everyone is impressed with the new Pier 27 condos. BlogTO readers thought Toronto already had too many condos and the new towers "ruined the waterfront." Another reader said the building "looks pretty nice, but loaded down with too many amenities. The maintenance fees will be crazy expensive." For some additional floorplan porn, you can check it out here; waterfront condos are expected to be completed early next year.
