Okay, not every new development around town is super-glamourous and amenity-packed. Some are lower-key, appealing to buyers who want the convenience and reliability of new construction but who aren't necessarily interested in an infinity pool, on-site doggy spa, or recording studio.
Take Scarborough's Haven on the Bluffs, on Kingston Road just north of Bluffer's Park. The value-priced building (studios start at around $160,000; 3-bedrooms with lakeview balcony, around $400,000) will suit buyers who don't mind being outside the city core. It's on a busy bus route, and isn't too far from Kennedy subway station and the Scarborough GO station. Not a bad spot if you just want a little place of your own (your dog might be disappointed about the no-spa thing, though).
