On Saturday, Toronto's newest covered rink and its accompanying figure-eight skating trail opened in Leslieville's Greenwood Park. City Councillor Paula Fletcher and MP Craig Scott showed off their skating skills for the crowds, undeterred by the surprise appearance of Mayor Rob Ford. The $3.4 million dollar rink rehab is part of Greenwood Park's ongoing revitalization. [Toronto Star]
