Affordable Housing

The City of Toronto is proposing to buy between 70 and 75 units in a waterfront condominium, operated by a non-profit housing company and used for affordable housing. This initiative is part of the recently announced $1.1 billion Bayside neighbourhood development. A one-bedroom will rent for $800 while a two-bedroom apartment will go for about $1,000 a month. The 13-storey waterfront condo with units starting at $300,000s is expected to be completed in 2016. [The Star]
