Neighbours in the Yonge Street and Eglinton Avenue area continue to oppose the proposal for a bold, table-top like Alaska Condo development by architect Will Alsop. In an online petition signed by more than 250 residents, people commented that the condo proposal "was the most ridiculous building they've seen on Yonge Street;" the building was "too big, too high for its location, out of proportion and ugly," while someone else pointed out that the "last time they checked the map of North America, Alaska was not located in Southern Ontario." The Why Alaska? petition continues. [Globe]
