The controversial 19-storey development proposal for the corner of College and Huron Street near the University of Toronto has hit another roadblock. On October 3, the Toronto Heritage Preservation Board designated the existing storefront on the site of the proposed development a heritage property.

Developer Shiu Pong already facing community opposition to this project must now include the heritage properties in any revised proposal for their development. Shiu Pong is working with Kikor Architects on the initial proposal, the firm who also designed the infamous Arc "Cruise Ship" Condo, at Sheppard and Bayview Avenue.
