↑ Urban Capital recently launched these mindboggling renderings of the River City Phase Three (RC3). The $300 million condo project near Eastern Avenue and King Street along the Don River is transforming the former industrial wasteland into a new residential neighbourhood. It's a first development for the area and nearby to a newly constructed Athletes Village when Toronto hosts the Pan-Am Summer Games. Phase One of the mega project includes two buildings with 350 residential units while Phase Two features 248 units, a single building appearing as three 12-storey mini glass towers connected by a bridge. The third phase is a 28-storey tower, extreme architecture with its textured cube visual design by Saucier & Perrotte Architects. Amenities are large for this development with an outdoor green space, a gold-tiled swimming pool (sorry, no pool photos yet) and a kids play room.
↑ The Alter Condos is a new 33-storey tower at Church Street, south of Carlton, and a funky design for the neighbourhood by architectsAlliance. The units are cheap and cheerful, ranging from 409 to 832 square feet and prices starting from $232,000. Watch for an outdoor infinity pool, an aqua spa and a party clubhouse area. The project is estimated to be completed fall 2017.
↑ The Core Condos at Shuter and Dalhousie Streets is a 24-storey development with a yellow and blue coloured podium and 220 suites. Designed by Page + Steele / IBI Group Architects, the balconies cut through the centre of the building creating a very striking visual effect and making it appear like two separate towers. The condo is expected to be completed in 2017.
↑ Garrison Point Condos in Fort York is supposed to be a family-oriented development, encouraging people to move their kids downtown. It's a massive development with five buildings, both residential and commercial, ranging from 23 to 49-storeys high. There is plenty of green space for the kiddies with a pedestrian promenade connecting to a public park and an Olympic sized swimming pool. The developer even made this family-friendly commercial emphasizing that "kids hate the suburbs," (Note: some kids do like the 'burbs). The development is expected to be completed in 2017.
